License Renewal

Dave and I left the farm at 3:00 Tuesday in the midst of a digestive system revolt. It was a tough day. The brain MRI results were good, though. There are no new tumors and the faint trace of a new one that appeared in October has disappeared. So the daily chemo pills I take are definitely crossing the blood brain barrier and doing their job. As I puked on the side of I-70 on the way home I thought about how this is better than a new brain tumor. I go back to St Louis in 2 weeks for chemo 112. In March I will have my neck-down scans. For now, I enjoy the renewal of my license to live.

  1. Hi Heidi

That’s great news! Not about the early start, or puking at the side of the road. But a good MRI is always a cause for celebration. So happy for you.

What chemo pill are you taking? I think at one point you were on capecitabine… is that still the one? Are you taking Tucatinib and trastuzumab too? I’m on the two Ts, but was taken off capecitabine as I got really sick on it. I’m a little anxious about no chemo in the mix, although at meal time I’m still always grateful to be able to eat and enjoy my food. Nothing’s ever straightforward in cancerland, is it?

I hope you’re doing okay and keep on being “unremarkable”. Who knew that would be our goal?!

    xx Joanie
